Pig Iron

originally went

on the web in

June of 1995,

but was

caught in

a temporal

disruption

vortex until

recently.

The new,

improved Pig

Iron updates

as often

as Loyd

manages

to crawl out

from the

wreckage,

about once

every Jovian

chronocycle.

But don't

hold him

to it.

Loyd Boldman,

creator of

Pig Iron,

was born

the day Elvis

released his

first single

("That's All

Right, Mama"

b/w "Blue Moon

of Kentucky").

His parents

were married

the night Hank

Williams died

in the back

seat of his

Cadillac on

the way to

a gig. He has

no idea what

these facts

mean, but they

sound terribly

important.

Loyd is an

award-winning

writer, director,

songwriter,

voice-over

artist, graphic

designer and

semi-pro

whistler.

He's written

and produced

Addy-winning

advertising

campaigns,

directed Dove

Award-

winning music

videos, live

shows, and

industrial

films; worked

on a couple

hundred album

covers for

artists ranging

from B.B.King

to Tammy Faye

Bakker, the

latter fact of

which he'd

like to keep

quiet.

In the many

years since

the great

Antimacassar

Massacre,

Loyd has

written a

half-dozen

Top Ten

songs on the

Christian

music charts,

and his

ghostly

whistling can

be heard

doing

the Theme

From Lassie

at Universal

Studios,

Florida. You

hear his

speaking

voice in

Universal

Studios'

Dynamite

Nights Stunt

Spectacular,

the E.T. Ride,

as well as on

commercials

for Sprint

United

Telephone

and

the Orlando

Magic; his

singing voice

is heard in

Disney's The

Lion King live

show; his

psychotic

rock-n'-roller

voice kicked

open the

Citrus Bowl

from 1993-96.

In between

projects, he

continues his

quest for

the perfect

corn dog.

    Loyd

and his

preternaturally

patient

wife Carol

have four

children

(Mary, Dave,

Dan and

the ever-

popular

Anna),

an inscrutable

black cat

named

Shelby,

and live in

Oviedo,

Florida,

a suburb of

Disney World.

They are

within sonic-

boom range

of the Space

Coast, and

can watch

the Space

Shuttle lift

off in the

distance

from their

front yard.

The Boldmans

believe them-

selves to have

the widest

variety of

hairstyles of

any family in

the Southeast.

Silent Planet,

like its parent,

Stage 22,

is a rebel

outpost

somewhere

beyond the

digital event

horizon,

creating 3-D

animation

and a buttload

of other

creative

monkeywork

for television,

film and video,

CD-ROMs,

games, and

advertising.
